Plant Memo is the VeganStove newsletter. One email every Friday: what I tested this week, what won, what flopped, and the weekend recipe born from it. No fluff. No daily blasts. Unsubscribe anytime.
What you get, every Friday
- The test log of the week. Three to five short notes from the kitchen: what I cooked, the timing data, the part that surprised me, the part that did not work. Sometimes a photograph from test run two before the recipe was locked.
- One weekend recipe. The recipe that came out of the week’s testing, ready to cook on Saturday or Sunday. With the ingredient list, the method, and the full version notes.
- One reader question. A real question from the inbox that week, answered properly, with sources where they apply.
- One link worth reading. Something I read this week from another plant-based cook, food scientist, or industry source that changed how I think about a technique.
Total reading time: under five minutes. The plant memo is built to be the part of your inbox you actually open, not the one you trash.
What you do not get
- Daily emails.
- Sponsored placements pretending to be editorial.
- Re-runs of recipes you already saw on the site, unless they have a meaningful update with a new version number.
- “Last chance” countdown timers, fake scarcity, or any of that.
- Your email address sold, rented, or shared with anyone outside the vendors named in the privacy policy.
What happens after you click “Sign up”
- You receive a confirmation email from Mailchimp within a few minutes. Subject line starts with “Confirm your subscription.”
- You click the link inside.
- You are on the list, and the next Friday issue lands in your inbox at 7:00 AM Pacific Time.
If the confirmation email never arrives, please check your spam folder. If it is not there either, please send a message through the contact page and we will sort it out.
How we handle your data
- The newsletter is sent through Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., USA), our email service provider.
- The only thing we ask for is your email address. A first name is optional.
- We do not share your email with anyone outside the vendors listed in the privacy policy.
- Each email contains a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer. Clicking it removes you from the active list within seconds. We keep a suppression record of your address (and the unsubscribe date) only so we never accidentally re-add you.
- The CAN-SPAM Act business mailing address required for US email marketing appears in the footer of every issue. It is not displayed publicly on the site.

For US residents
The plant memo is intended for residents of the United States. The signup form is configured to reflect that, and our marketing is not directed at the EU/UK/EEA market. If you are an EU/UK/EEA resident and you nevertheless subscribe, we will rely on standard contractual clauses (SCCs) for the cross-border transfer of your email address. You retain all the rights described in the privacy policy, including the one-click unsubscribe.
Archive
Past issues are not currently published on the site. We may add a public archive once we have at least a year of issues in the bag. If you missed a recipe from a recent issue, it is almost always live on the main site under one of the six recipe categories.
Frequency, in plain numbers
- One issue per week. Friday morning, Pacific Time.
- Occasional skip weeks. If I am sick, traveling, or the test cooks did not produce anything worth shipping, we skip rather than fill.
- Zero promotional blasts. No “flash sale” emails, no “limited time” offers. If we ever run a sponsored partnership in the newsletter, the email subject line will say “[Sponsored]” and the editorial standard described in the affiliate disclosure applies.
Questions, problems, or want to opt back in
If the unsubscribe link does not work, you stop receiving issues you signed up for, you want to update the email address on file, or you want to be re-added after a previous unsubscribe: send a message through the contact page. We sort it out within 48 hours on weekdays.
