Ingredients

  • 25-30 medjool dates, pitted (about 2 cups packed)
  • 1 1/2 cups roasted cashews
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoon maca powder
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • pinch flaky sea salt
  • melted chocolate, nuts, seeds, dried roses, cocoa or cacao powder, for topping

Method

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add dates, cashews, coconut flakes, cacao powder, hemp seeds, chia seeds, maca powder, orange zest, and sea salt to a food processor.
  3. Pulse until fully combined and the dough easily holds together when squeezed in your hand.
  4. Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls.
  5. Optional: Roll balls in desired toppings OR dip in melted chocolate and sprinkle toppings onto the chocolate.
  6. Allow chocolate to set in the fridge before storing the balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Notes

- Use soft, fresh Medjool dates for the best texture.
- If dough is too dry, add a teaspoon of water. Too wet, add more nuts or coconut.
- Freeze balls for 15-20 mins after rolling for easier dipping in chocolate.
