Ingredients

  • 3 ounces limeade
  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple (cubed)
  • 6 ounces Mexican beer
  • 1/2-1 ounce gold tequila (optional)
  • Pineapple wedges for garnish
  • Lime slices for garnish
  • Tequila for soaking pineapple
  • Salt and chili powder for rimming

Method

  1. Tequila Soaked Pineapple: Place pineapple wedges and lime slices in a shallow dish. Cover with tequila, ensuring wedges are mostly submerged. Soak for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.
  2. Prepare Garnish: Remove pineapple from tequila soak. You can use these wedges for serving, sprinkled with salt and chili powder, or blend them into the drink.
  3. Blend Base: In a blender, combine the cubed fresh pineapple and limeade. Blend until smooth.
  4. Assemble Chelada: Pour the blended mixture over crushed ice in glasses. Add Mexican beer and gold tequila (if using). Stir gently to combine.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with the tequila-soaked pineapple wedges and lime slices. A mint leaf can add extra freshness if desired.

Notes

- For an extra kick, rim your glasses with a mix of salt and chili powder before pouring the drink.
- Adjust the amount of tequila and beer to your personal preference for strength.
- Use very cold ingredients for the most refreshing result.
