Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal (not quick, instant, or steel cut oats)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt

Method

  1. Add old fashioned oatmeal, almond milk, pure maple syrup, vanilla, and ground cinnamon to a glass jar, ensuring even distribution.
  2. Stir well for 30 seconds until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Cover the jar tightly with a lid or plastic wrap.
  4. Refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours, to allow oats to soften.
  5. Serve cold, topped with your favorite fresh berries and crunchy granola for added texture.

Notes

- For extra protein: Stir in a tablespoon of chia seeds or protein powder before refrigerating.
- Vary your toppings: Fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, or a drizzle of nut butter all make great additions.
- If the oats are too thick the next morning, add a splash more almond milk to reach your desired consistency.
- I found that using a wide-mouth jar makes stirring and adding toppings much easier.
