Ingredients
  

  • 2 large avocados, ripe (slightly soft to the touch)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • cup onion, finely diced
  • cup bell pepper, finely diced
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • pinch cayenne (add more for extra kick)
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt or to taste
  • Dash of pepper
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime

Method
 

  1. Peel avocados and remove pits.
  2. Score avocados into squares using a small paring knife.
  3. In a medium bowl, mash avocados with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth.
  4. Add the minced garlic, diced onion, diced bell pepper, cumin, cayenne pepper, sea salt, black pepper, chopped cilantro, and lime juice.
  5. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite tortilla chips or as a topping.

- Use ripe avocados for the creamiest texture; they should yield slightly to gentle pressure.
