Ingredients
  

  • 1 gala, pink lady, or fuji apple, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 ripe d’anjou or red pear, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Water for steaming
  • Fresh bread for serving
  • Yogurt for serving

Method
 

  1. Place apple in steamer pot over boiling water and cook for 3 minutes.
  2. Place apples, pears and cinnamon in food processor and puree until smooth.
  3. Serve.
  4. If pears are firm/hard, you can steam them for 3 minutes with the apples.

Notes

- Choose ripe, firm apples and pears for the best flavor and texture. Overripe fruit can become mushy.
- For a chunkier butter, pulse the food processor instead of continuous pureeing.
